Iran’s RIFF pays tribute to Khosrow Sinaee

Iran’s Resistance Int'l Film Festival pays tribute to the late Khosrow Sinaee.

Iran’s Resistance International Film Festival (RIFF) has paid tribute to the late Iranian director Khosrow Sinaee and four other cineastes at the opening ceremony of its 16th edition.

The other four cineastes who were honored at the ceremony in Tehran on Monday are Hadi Meshkat, Hossein Fahimi, Homayoun-Reza Atarodi, and Gholamreza Jannatkhah-Doust.

Sinaee was a director, screenwriter and filmmaker. He died last August from the novel coronavirus.

He is famous for his feature film ‘Bride of Fire’ as well as the documentary ‘Lost Lament’, which is about the Polish people who immigrated to Iran in the 1940s.

The 16th edition of the RIFF is taking place on two different dates.

Some of its sections are underway on September 21-27, coinciding with the “Sacred Defense” week – an annual event to commemorate the anniversary of the start of Iraq's imposed war on Iran in the 1980s.

The other sections will be held on November 21-27, coinciding with “Basij” week.

The RIFF, one of the most prestigious international film festivals in Iran, is dedicated to productions on wars and the repercussions of armed conflicts in the world.

It also puts a spotlight on the resistance of the Palestinian people against the Zionist regime, Daesh and their terrorist attacks in the region, and the world’s tyrants and their backing of Daesh.
